Valentino: The Last Emperor, Matt Tyrnauer’s documentary film. Tyrnauer, a special correspondent for Vanity Fair, spent two years shooting more than 250 hours of footage of the designer and his entourage for the project. The film, shot roughly between 2005 and 2007, culminates with the preparations for Valentino’s elaborate farewell festivities that marked his retirement from the fashion industry.
“I know what women want. They want to be beautiful” a quote by Valentino as seen in the new film, The Last Emperor.

A very early photo of Valentino Garavani the Italian fashion designer. Photo taken from Princess Luciana Pignatelli (Aragona Cortez)’s book The Beautiful People’s Beauty Book. Obviously the Princess followed her own advice, “Every woman over 30 needs a homosexual in her life.” Some other wise advice from her book “In my ex-husband’s house, everyone was unhappy, even the parrot. It was my fault, too. With two strong personalities, either you pull together or you destroy each other. What does this have to do with beauty? Lots!”
