Thierry Mugler, born Dec 21 1948 in Strasbourg, France is a fashion designer, photographer, and creator of a fashion design company of the same name. He is a daring creator with extraordinary visions…a true artist.

At the age of fourteen, Thierry joined the Corps de Ballet du Rhin to become a dancer, while taking courses at the Arts Decoratifs de Strasbourg in the East of France. In1974 Thierry founded his own company, Société Thierry Mugler. He was the head of his own fashion house where, through the world of fashion and costume design, he brought his fantasies to life.

As a child, Thierry Mugler remembers looking at the enormity of the sky and searching for shooting stars. He became fascinated with the color blue in the sky. Infinite and magical, it is “the color you can never touch.” In 1992 he modernized the fragrance world with a new scent category and the introduction of his controversial and delicious ANGEL, beautifully bottled in a faceted star, his symbol for hope and the illumination of our dreams.

In 2003, Mugler took on a new adventure and became the costume designer for the Cirque du Soleil show, Zumanity, located in the Las Vegas New York New York Hotel and Casino. These days, Mugler, looks more like a circus strongman than the club denizen of old. But he has not lost his amazing enthusiasm and plans to conquer ever-new frontiers. He is working on a capsule couture collection, which will be sold exclusively at his own boutique in Paris. Also in the works is a touring fashion sextravaganza to rival his spectacles of the ’90s, and two burlesque revues — for the Crazy Horse club in Paris and its sister venue at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
